WATER WORDS WATER WORLDS

Designed for Sonic ARI in Lutruwitra, this half day workshop led participants to engage with sea water in experimental ways to reorient themselves towards water as a collaborator, companion, and creative agent.

Together, we listened to the languages of wave, tide, and rockpool, using hydrophones, multi-sensorial play, visual scores and embodied experiments, attuning to the rhythms and relationalities of the sea.

Through deep listening, embodied movement, and experimental making, a cumulative, co-composition was created, and offered back to the ocean as a small gesture of ecologic reverence and relation.

Using hydrophones, participants played with water, dipping into poetics of relation, sensing water as a living presence and asking: how can we create with the sea?
