TRANS* ECOLOGY CLUB

Stretching across species, ecologies and matter itself the Trans* ecology club is a slow reading group for the ecologically inclined or curious. Co-created and Convened by Audax Mrozik Gawler, Char Lee and Justine Walsh the club creates iterative space for the exploration of trans perspectives and embodiments as they intersect with the more-than-human world, through close co-reading of both critical and creative texts.

Initiated in early 2024 and continuing through 2026, the club hosts a mixture of regular in-person and online gatherings as well as diverse field trips for close explorations of trans* more-than-human worlds including but not limited to lightning, primordial ooze, eels, cuttlefish, orchids, fungi, bugs and fish.

Hosted by TERRAIN bookshop, Black Spark Cultural Center and most recently the Portal Library, the Trans* ecology club homes artists, academics, designers, students, gardeners and ecologists alike.
